Founders of Mama Stone's - Wendy and Jonathan Joseph
The Mama Stone's concept is an innovative approach to combining the art of making music and the development of tomorrow’s talent, coupled with the front line of delivering live music and entertainment to our audience.
Our VisionOur vision has been Inspired by 'back in the day' artists responsible for all that we listen to today in popular music; A time when great music was created - not by the giant record company executives but by talented musicians playing together for the love of it, a time when honest records were made in the back room of Jazz cafes, when musicians jammed together one minute and laid it down the next.
Mama Stone's has been created in homage to those times, and as such has become a meeting place for many musicians in the South West, as well as many young aspiring artists who want to hone their craft. Mama Stone’s will be bringing to the stage international, national and local artists.
Artist DevelopmentUpstairs, our young artists work hard on improving their skills; writing, recording and learning their art. Our vocal tuition programme nurtures ability and confidence, offering basic, intermediate and advanced coaching programmes.

For the budding artists who show sufficient promise, Mama Stone's will offer production deals with a view to showcasing them to the industry.

The VenueEntrance: Created with a hand painted colourful, New Orleans / Cuban influence, impossible to ignore and irresistible to anyone passing.
Ground Floor: Comfortable, funky setting where traditional colonial styles meet in a Bohemian mix. A hip, cool venue for food, drinks and music that exudes vibe and comfort in a kicked back style, intentionally scuffed around the edges with warm colours and a hand painted interior. Rugs, Kilms and eclectic furniture beckon, hold and intrigue. Visually pleasing and supremely comfortable with items of interest in all directions; musical memorabilia and funky hand painted patterns take the customer to a bar just off Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
From the minute you walk through the door, you'll get the sense that this is more than just a venue where music is played. This is a venue where Music is MADE.

The Audience
Hosting a well stacked bar brimming with an array of draughts, ales, fine wines, sexy cocktails and cheeky back shelf spirits, plus offering fabulous mouth watering freshly made “Southern Style” food - and of course an abundance of live music! Mama Stone's offers the complete night out for a wide range of ages.
For our younger patrons the Mama Stone experience will be one of discovery, a place to go that offers an experience over and above that of clubbing or just watching a gig. For our more mature audience a blissful opportunity to reminisce with the music and vibe we remember from our youth. For each of you, Mama Stone’s is a place that you'll feel a part of just by way of being there.
